Common Types of Dental Emergencies

Tooth Pain or Swelling

Sudden pain, swelling or discomfort in your teeth or gums may not seem like a dental emergency. However, our dentists recommend booking an appointment as soon as possible. If not treated as soon as possible, dental injuries may continue to deteriorate into emergencies and spread.

Dental Trauma

Dental emergencies are most common among children who are prone to sports accidents or falls. The most common dental trauma injuries occur due to car wrecks, sports accidents or falls. If your child finds themselves with a loose or knocked-out tooth, due to a trauma, sports-related injury or while playing, contact Dr. Michael J. Spitzer as soon as possible to schedule an emergency visit and examination.

Call our Costa Mesa Dental office immediately if you experience:

Severe pain combined with bleeding

Tooth loss or a large chip

Loose teeth

Swelling in your gums, face or neck

If you are experiencing any of the above symptoms, please call our office or an emergency dentist near you immediately.

A healthy, confident smile starts here.
